Adventures in sustainable play
A Minecraft sword or a rocket to fly to the moon? A fancy light-up hat or a secret garden for your pet snail! It is your adventure, so you can do what you like.
We want you and your family to have your own play adventure.
Once you have signed up, we will post a free maker kit with resources to support making and play to your house.
The free kits have now all been claimed, but Play Book and a list of the resources to play with us are available to download (PDF, 1.3MB).
The bits in the kit will help you to use things around your home, such as old cardboard or recycling to make costumes, props and models that you might want to include in your adventure and we will provide you with some videos to help you make some things that you might want to include in your adventure.
It will also give you instructions on how to get started and give you access to our special online portal on Flipgrid.
Access to the ‘How To’ videos are via our online portal through an app called Flipgrid. You will have an opportunity to share what you are making using the portal. This is an exciting way for you and your children to share your adventures and also see what other families are getting up to.
In the meantime, start collecting old bits of card, old toys and other useful bits and bobs you could use in your adventure playtime.
Adventures in Sustainable Play has been organised by Maker{Futures} from the University of Sheffield as part of the Festival of the Mind. It is a free event for children and families in Sheffield.
